In keeping with Bradford Council's commitment to community involvement and information accessibility for all, efforts have been made to make this website as inclusive as possible. By following guidelines produced by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), an international body who set the standards by which the World Wide Web operates, it is hoped that this site will provide a straightforward and informative experience for all.
Our site information content is separated from presentational elements, which makes it available to any visitors that use technologies such as a screen reader or text only browser. If you do however experience any difficulty in accessing information on this website or if you have difficulty completing our online forms telephone 01274 431000 or get in touch with us.
We have provided instructions for the majority of browsers so that you can fully access all the information on our website but due to the large number of browsers available we cannot guarantee that all versions of Internet browsers (especially older browsers) are compatible with some aspects of the technology used on this site.
Browser options also may vary from version to version. Please consult help files provided with your browser if you are still having difficulty accessing information.
To assist further we have incorporated a viewing option that is less browser dependant. This option is available from the top-left of each screen under the heading Text Only Format.
How to download PDF files
There are two ways to download PDFs:
Please Note: PDF documents require Adobe Acrobat Reader to view them, you can download this free software by clicking on the logo below.
Flash
We use Flash in some sections of the website, and Flash is not fully accessible. Where it is possible, we provide accessible versions of Flash content.
If you cannot view the Flash content, you may want to download the Adobe Flash Player. Where possible, all flash content is also provided in a text format.
Changing text size, images & colours
This section gives you instructions on how you can change the size of the text on this website to make it easier to read.
We also tell you how to turn the website images off, so you can read the text only. If you have a slow connection to the internet reading websites as text only will reduce the time it takes to open a page.
It is also possible within certain browsers to alter the colours used on websites when they are viewed. Wherever possible, we give you instructions on how to change the colours viewed on -screen, but some experimentation may be necessary to find the colours most appropriate to your viewing conditions.
The instructions are different for the various types of browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape and Firefox). There are also special instructions if you are using a Macintosh computer.
