Bradford City Run 2010
is a roaring success!
The sun was shining, the crowds were cheering and all the runners were raring to go. The second year
of the Bradford City Run proved to be
even more successful than last year with over 2,000
people gathering in the city centre and Lister Park to
enjoy a fun-packed event. We'd like to say a big
THANK YOU to all who took part or supported the
runners and made it a great day out.
The half marathon route was certainly challenging for the runners
with many hills, twists and turns, and the winner Michael Del Monte
should be commended on his winning time of 01.13.07. Karen Pickles
took home the womens trophy with a great time of 01.26.13.
The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress presented the winners
with their trophies, vouchers, flowers and champagne.

Are you keen to get fit, but dont know where to start? We're looking for six willing volunteers to take part in our 5k race - you'll have full online training support with a personal coach as well as free gym sessions (at Jury's Inn Bradford), and we've even thrown in free sports kit and running trainers, courtesy of www.sportsshoes.com.
Children under 9 welcome with a supervising adult.

Half Marathon
This race is open to anyone over 16, and is for all abilities, so you can enjoy the event as quickly or slowly as you please. Starting in the centre of Bradford at the iconic Alhambra Theatre, the route takes you through Bradford City before wending its way through the iconic Brontë Countryside, before finishing in front of the crowds back in the beautiful Lister Park (Distance: 13.1 miles).

of the Mountain
This year’s Half Marathon course offers a special prize for the ‘Fastest Man’ and ‘Fastest Woman’ up the 1 in 5 Highgate Hill at the end of the course just before the decent into Lister Park. If you don’t fancy covering the whole course yourself, how about covering part of it as a 4 person relay team? The relay is open to anyone over 16, so what better way to experience a section of this scenic course. If speed is your game, the shorter distances are perfect (but make sure you get the right person in place for Highgate Hill!) Or if you’d like to fund raise how about passing a charity flag or banner from runner to runner or walker to walker!
5k Fun Run
This event is open to anyone who’s 9 and over, so it’s ideal for all the family (push chairs welcome!) The course is designed as loops around Lister Park so ideal for fancy dress and supporters! The Event Village and the Kids’ Races will also be held in Lister Park - it’ll be buzzing.
3K & 1K Kids’ Races
This year we have two junior distances: 3k and 1K for ages 9 to 15 (see How to Enter for race categories). The races will also be held in Lister Park, so mums, dads, friends and family can all support each other in one place.
Best Running School
This grand silver cup donated by Bradford old boy Simon Price is up for grabs for the school with the most entries (…and teachers count!) You don’t have to run; you can walk, hop or skip with 2 legs (or how about a 3 legged race?!) your way round the 1k, 3k or 5k course - let’s hear it for our schools. (click here for a Schools Entry Form, £50 gets you all in!)
Best Running Club
This year we’ve introduced a brand new category for running enthusiasts who belong to a club. The first four past the post will count towards the overall club score and there will also be individual prizes for fastest club man and woman, as well as the fastest mixed club team. Good luck!
The Event Village will be in Lister Park this year, where the Half Marathon ends and all other events take place. Watch this space for details or to exhibit at the village, please contact the organisers.
